Licorice Root for Asthma Attack

Breathless and left exhausted is what an asthma attack does to me. I have tried many home remedies to relieve them naturally; from honey to black pepper on a banana; but none of them work well.

Recently, I was having severe asthma attacks and not even my prescription asthma medication was working. I ended up doing a bit of research online and came across licorice as an herbal remedy for relieving severe asthma attacks

Soon after, I had my boyfriend help me make a medicinal cup of licorice root herbal tea with cinnamon and shortly after, I began sipping it down.

Within ten minutes of sipping on the licorice root herbal tea with cinnamon, I began breathing easier and was able to rest comfortably.

To my surprise, this herbal remedy worked outstandingly well and I felt the need to share it with all of you asthma sufferers looking for relief of an asthma attack when all other medications and remedies seem to fail you as well.

What ingredients are in the medicinal licorice root cinnamon herbal tea?

The ingredients I use to make my medicinal licorice root cinnamon herbal tea are two tablespoons of pure organic dried licorice root and a cinnamon stick.

I always get these ingredients from my local herbal shop because they are most affordable there, and I always make sure I have them on hand at all times now to prevent and stop an asthma attack naturally.

You may also be able to find these two herbs at your local herbal shop or whole food store as well, but again make sure they are pure and organic so you know for sure they have the medicinal properties you need to relieve your asthma attack successfully.

What medicinal properties do the herbs provide for asthma attack?

The medicinal properties in licorice root that help relieve asthma are anti-inflammatory, anti-histamine, anti-spasmodic and anti-bacterial.

Licorice root also provides a warming sensation to a congested chest to help loose thick mucus from the airways, which is one of the things I love about licorice root for asthma.

Cinnamon is added to the tea because it has medicinal properties that can help fight exhaustion and provide the body with antioxidants needed to kill harmful bacterial, fungal and viral infections naturally.

Just breathing in the warm aroma of cinnamon alone helps open up my airways, which I love as well.

How do I make the medicinal licorice root cinnamon herbal tea?

The way you make the medicinal licorice root cinnamon herbal tea for asthma relief, is by placing two tablespoons of dried licorice root into a tea infuser to begin with.

After, take a cinnamon stick and place it into a small pot with two to three cups of clean water along with the licorice root filled tea-steeping ball.

Next, boil the herbs and water on the stove on medium heat for about fifteen to twenty minutes to really help draw out the medicinal properties.

After, remove the herbal from the stove, pour some into a mug, and begin breathing in the steam coming out of the mug.

Then, begin sipping on the tea until it is gone and your asthma is relieved.

Again, for me, I began feeling relief in ten minutes, but it may take less or more time for you.

Are there any precautions to take with the medicinal tea for asthma?

Yes, licorice root can cause high blood pressure and rapid heartbeat in some people.

It can even make you feel panicky if you have too much, which I have experienced.

Cinnamon can cause the blood sugar levels to become unbalanced and even make you hungry.

Overall, when the herbal tea is sipped on a couple cups each day no side effects really occur because the herbs are safe to use in moderation.
