Amazing Bay Leaf Herbal Bath Soak for Relieving Body Aches

Body aches are the worst kind of pain to feel and are usually caused by cold, illness, or injury. One of the best ways to treat body aches is by taking a bay leaf bath with a homemade bay leaf herbal soak.

It is very easy to make and very nice to relax in and it really helps relieve body aches from head to toe.

Natural Ingredients Needed for Making Bay Leaf Herbal Bath Soak for Relieving Body Aches

The natural ingredients needed to make the bay leaf herbal bath soak are:

  • 1 cup of dried crushed bay leaves,
  • 5 cups of Epsom salt,
  • ½ cup of buttermilk powder,
  • ½ a cup of dried chamomile flowers and
  • 20 drops of lavender oil.

All these ingredients should be as natural and organic as possible because they will hold more healing and soothing benefits to them.

These natural ingredients can be found out at local herbal stores and pharmaceutical stores.

The main ingredients in this bath soak that helps relieve the body aches the most are the crushed bay leaves.

Bay leaves contain an oil in it called, “Oleum Lauri,” which helps relieve pain and body aches caused by being cold, having an illness, or an injury. Bay leaves also contain, “parthenopids,” which are compounds that help relieve aches and pains as well.

They even contain antioxidants in them called, “eugenol,” and this helps relieve and reduce inflammation in the body that could be causing the body aches and pain.

The reason the other ingredients are in this bath soak are because the Epsom salt helps relax sore muscles, lavender helps calm and soothe, chamomile helps relieve aches and pains while soothing, and the buttermilk is to help nourish the skin and keep it soft and beautiful appearing.

These ingredients also contain antioxidants in them that can really help body aches as well and any kind of stiffness and tension the body might have.

Making the Bay Leaf Herbal Bath Soak

The way to make the bay leaf herbal soak is by taking the 1 cup of dried crushed bay leaves, 5 cups of Epsom salt, ½ cup of buttermilk powder, ½ a cup of dried chamomile flowers, and 20 drops of lavender oil and placing them into a large metal mixing bowl.

Then what you do is take a large metal spoon and combine the ingredients together until you get a creamy white powdery herbal mixture that smells like lavender and bay leaves.

Once the mixture is combined, you will then have a nice bay leaf herbal soak to use for making a nice soothing relaxing bath to help heal your achy body right up.

You can store the homemade bath soak in an air tight container and place it next to your bathtub until you are ready to use it.

Using the Bay Leaf Herbal Bath Soak 

When you are ready to use the homemade bay leaf herbal bath soak ,the best way to use it is by filling your bathtub up with plenty of hot water.

Then what you want to do is take 3 cups of the bath soak and pour that into the bathwater and allow it to dissolve into the water for about 5 minutes. The bath will look milky and have dried herbs floating all around, but this is what the bath is supposed to look like.

Then what you do is step into the tub and soak in it for as long as you possibly can or until you become ache free. 

I personally like to soak in this bath soak for an hour when my body is super achy. The bath really is very soothing and has a lovely herbal lavender aroma to it that helps calm my mind as I am sure it will yours as well.

​After the bath, you will notice less aches and pains and you will feel more relaxed.

You skin will also feel very soft and smooth and have a lovely light lavender scent to it.

This bath soak is also very good for irritated dry skin. However, if you are allergic to chamomile, lavender, or bay leaves you should not use this homemade bay leaf herbal soak at all.

Other than that begin said this is an excellent natural way to relieve body aches from head to toe.
