Amazing Berry Cough Syrup for Treating Chronic Coughing

Chronic coughing can be caused by asthma, viral or bacterial infection and smoking.

There are many over the counter medicines that can be taken to help relieve chronic coughing, but there are also plenty of home remedies that can be taken as well to help relieve and even treat chronic coughing.

One of the best home remedies used for treating chronic coughing is a homemade berry cough syrup made with whole foods that contains vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that can relieve and treat chronic coughing.

Ingredients and Materials for Making Berry Cough Syrup

The ingredients you will need to make the homemade berry cough syrup are 1 cup each of red raspberries, strawberries and blueberries, 1 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of dried peppermint leaves, and 2 ½ cup of organic honey.

For materials you will need 1 small saucepan, a metal strainer, a mixing spoon and a small sterile jar with a lid.

If you do not have these ingredients or materials on hand you can find them at your local grocery store.

Making the Berry Cough Syrup

The way the homemade berry cough syrup is made is by placing the berries, water and peppermint into a small saucepan.

You will boil the ingredients together for 10-minutes on medium heat.

The berries will burst and let out all the juices from them that contain the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in them.

After, you will take the metal strainer and strain the berry juice into the small jar.

You basically want to remove all the pulp and seeds from the juice so it is a deep reddish-purple liquid.

Next you will add 2 ½ cups of honey into the berry juice and mix them together until you get a homemade berry cough syrup to relieve and treat your chronic coughing. You should store the homemade berry cough syrup in the refrigerator until you are ready to use it.

Using the Berry Cough Syrup

Now when you are ready to take some of the berry cough syrup, all you need to do is pour 2 to 3 tablespoons of the syrup into a small cup.

After, you can drink it down.

The berry syrup will have a sweet berry taste to it with a hint of soothing mint, and will be thick in texture just like syrup. The syrup will help soothe and coat your throat and relieve and treat your chronic coughing.

The vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in the syrup will relieve and reduce any inflammation and pain caused by the coughing, and will help treat any infection you may have that is causing the chronic coughing in the first place.

This berry syrup can also be taken to ease an upset stomach.

You would take the same amount of syrup. The only thing you need to be cautions of is giving this homemade berry cough syrup to a young child, baby, or person who is allergic to berries, mint, or honey.

Other than that, this is a fairly safe home remedy to take in treating chronic coughing.

You can take this homemade berry cough syrup up to 6 times a day safely without any side effects.

However, this home remedy may not be able to treat severe cases of chronic coughing so you may want to seek out a medical professional for medical advice and help.

End Notes

For those of you who are suffering from chronic coughing I hope this homemade berry cough syrup helps relieve and treat it.

I hope you all get well soon.
