There are several people out there suffering from gum disease. Mouthwashes and toothpaste can keep your mouth feeling clean, cavity free and help heal up your gums, but the key to really preventing and treating gum disease is eating a proper diet consisting of the right whole foods.
Super Fruits
Some of the best whole foods to eat are fresh fruits such as grapefruits, lemons, limes, oranges, kiwis, mangoes, strawberries, blueberries, pomegranates, peaches, cantaloupe, apricots and papayas. These fruits contain high amounts of vitamin C and vitamin C is needed to help keep our gum tissues healthy and strong.
Limes especially help with preventing and treating gum disease because the juice from them helps slow down and even kill some of the harmful bacterial that cause gum disease in the first place. By killing the bacteria that causes gum disease you are also killing the germs bacteria that cause plaque buildup on teeth as well.
Another reason it is good to use fruits for preventing and treating gum disease is because not only does the vitamin C help keep gum tissue healthy and strong, but it also keeps are teeth healthy and strong and prevents them from decaying, which is another cause of gum disease.
When are teeth are full of cavities, we know our gums are not healthy.
So, start eating some fruits containing high amounts of vitamin C.
