Kale and Cabbage Crunch Salad with Bacon and Onion Dressing

by Elise Wheeler

We’ve been on a salad kick and another tasty one I made up for the family the other night was my kale and cabbage salad with crunchy bacon bits and sweet maple onion dressing.

It was full of sweet and savory flavor, nice crunch and packed with nutrients. Most importantly, it was quick to toss together for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients for Salad

1 cup of shredded carrots
2 cups of shredded cabbage
3 cups of shredded kale
1 apple cored and finely chopped up
1/2 cup of golden raisins
1/4 cup of sunflower seeds
6 pieces of bacon cooked up and crumbled (you can do more if you love bacon)

Ingredients for Dressing

1 cup of Sweet onion dressing
1/4 cup of maple syrup
1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

Directions for Making the Salad

1. Place all the salad ingredients into a serving bowl. Toss the ingredients together well to create a well-blended salad mix. Place it on the table.
2. Mix up all the dressing ingredients in a medium mason jar or salad dressing bottle and set it on the table.
3. Serve the salad up on plates and pour the dressing over them.
4. Eat up and enjoy for a healthy meal with the family.

That’s how we keep things sweet and simple!
