Chocolate Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

One of my favorite breakfast shakes to make in the morning when I feel like having something light and healthy is my chocolate banana oat smoothie.

It is packed full of vitamins, minerals, proteins, and antioxidants to help give my body a boost of energy while keeping my immune system strong.

What are the ingredients needed?

The ingredients you will need to make my chocolate banana oat smoothie are 1 banana, ½ cup of ice, 1 ½ cups of soymilk or regular low fat milk, ½ cup of oats, and one packet of your favorite chocolate protein shake or about 1/4 cup of protein powder mix from a container you have on hand.

However, if you don’t like chocolate you could always use a strawberry flavored one and make a strawberry banana oat smoothie which is just as tasty. If you are wondering where you can find all of these ingredients you can usually find them in your local grocery store or whole food shop.

Making the Smoothie 

To make the chocolate banana oat smoothie peel the banana and toss it into the blender.

Next, add in the chocolate protein powder and pour that into the blender as well, and pour in the ½ cup of ice and 1 ½ cups of soy milk or regular milk.

Then, what you do is turn your blender on high and blend all the ingredients together until it forms a nice creamy chocolate banana oat smoothie that will be tasty, filling, and good for you.

Why is the smoothie a good breakfast option? 

The reason why the smoothie is such a great healthy breakfast meal is because it contains everything you need to help get your body going in the morning.

The banana provides your body with your first serving of fruit along with some potassium, B vitamins, vitamin C and magnesium to help control blood sugar levels, and allows the muscles in your body to move properly.

The oats in this smoothie give your body a serving of grains and provides it with fiber, while also helping your body maintain healthy cholesterol and blood sugar levels.

The soy milk or regular milk in the smoothie provides your body with some healthy protein, calcium, vitamins A, D, fiber, and isoflavones which help protect your body from cancers and diseases, while also providing it with energy and other nutrients to help build strong healthy bones and muscles.

Last, but not least the protein shake mix you can help your body get going in the morning by providing it with other essential proteins, minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins to help protect your immune system, bodily tissues, bones, and muscles, and your body from cancers and illness while provide you with energy throughout the entire day.

Oh yes, I almost forgot the ice! The ice is basically water and helps get your body hydrated which is always needed when you wake up in the morning. You tend to become dehydrated overnight, but that is an easy fix. If you do want to stay hydrated during the night, sip on water when you do wake up during the middle of the night.

Anyways, now that you know how to make the chocolate banana oat smoothie and how it can help your body, all you need to do is make one and drink up.

I know once you try this healthy breakfast smoothie you will be feeling energized and healthy and ready to go about your day. I know I sure do every time I make and drink it and I love that it is easy to digest and doesn’t make my belly hurt in the morning.
