13 Expert Tips and Tricks to Keeping The Kitchen Clean and Safe

There is no gainsaying the fact that the kitchen is perhaps the most important part of a household. Some might argue that it’s the bedroom, but we all certainly agree, especially the womenfolk that the kitchen plays a vital role in the upkeep of the home.

Kitchens vary is sizes and furnishings, but whatever the case may be, keeping the kitchen clean is of most paramount interest.

When doing house cleaning chores, the attention paid to the kitchen differs from every other part of the household. More attention is given to the kitchen and there is that extra care and touch that is always added.

In this article, we are going to be looking at some expert tips and tricks in the doing house cleaning where the kitchen is concerned.

  2. Want to reduce the risks of stains on your marble table top? Good news then as it might interest you to know that buffing a marble table top with car polish leaves behind an invisible thin film that reduces risks of stains.
  3. Accidents happen sometimes in the kitchen, and when it does and you have small fragments of broken glasses lying around, a really effective way of picking them up is by pressing pieces of bread onto the affected area.
  4. Ants are real headaches, especially in the kitchen not only are these creatures a threat to your delicacies, but could be annoying and pose healthy risk. To prevent ants from entering the kitchen, or you need do is draw a chalk line where you want them to stop. You read me right….a chalk line! If this does sound strange to you, then you are not alone; am with you on this one; but as strange as it sounds, it does work.
  5. Leftovers of Styrofoam peanuts can be used as drainage in the bottom of a pot.
  6. Just by rubbing a bar of soap across the runners of drawers, you can prevent them from sticking. This is really effective in the kitchen.
  7. When doing a fireplace clean-up, ashes can be prevented from flying around by using a spray bottle filled with water to cover the ashes with a light mist.
  8. After cleaning up and vacuuming the kitchen, you can leave it smelling all nice and cool by placing a few drops of your favourite essential oils like peppermint and lavender close to hot air vents. The hot air warm up the oils and blows it all around the kitchen.
  9. Irritating odours in the kitchen can be gotten rid of by burning up some coffee beans in a sauce pan. The burnt coffee bean smell will overpower any other nasty odours that’s in the kitchen.
  10. This microwave tip will come really handy to all those that own a microwave, and if am guessing right, almost everyone. Add 4 table spoons of lemon juice to a cup of water in a microwave safe bowl and then heat for about five minutes. Allow the steam to condense on the walls of the oven and then wipe up with cloth or microfiber.
  11. Here is a cool tip in cleaning up a stainless-steel sink! Put the stopper in the sink with two denture-cleaning tablets; half-filling with water. Allow it to stay overnight or for a couple of hours. You will find out it will be all sparkling clean.
  12. Sometimes, stainless kitchen appliances would get affected with fingerprints. There is a way to take care of this fast. Place small quantity of baby oil on a napkin and wipe the affected areas of the stainless appliance. The fingerprint on the stainless steel appliance will be totally removed.
  13. I detest mould spores, and I guess you do too! When found in the kitchen, it’s something you would want to get rid of fast and effectively. Clove oil which is used for toothache problems, and easily available in the chemists, is very effective in killing off mould spores. Add 3 drops in a litre of water, and then mix it up. Use it to wipe the surfaces affected by mould spores and you would be totally rid of them.
