Basically the FDA is now allowing self regulation of the use of antibiotics in livestock feed.

Antibiotics + Food = Superbugs

Superbugs = Death

The effects of this decision will take time to surface –but just think about it for a minute.

Here is a sneak peak into my brain after reading the article…..”In the beginning antibiotics in food will make for less sick animals…which will make for more money for farmers…which will lead to more antibiotic laden food on the market…which will show up on dollar menus all over the country…which will lead to an increase in antibiotic resistance…which will lead to superbugs…which will lead to deaths…the animals who were initially less sick because of the antibiotics in their food will become more sick because their tolerance will increase…which will defeat the purpose of putting the drugs into their feed in the first place…oh and the antibiotics in the food will leach into water supplies which will reach lots of other animals + microbes…man oh man oh man.”

PS I have attention deficit disorder.

PSS 80% of antibiotics produced in the USA are consumed by livestock. 99% of beef consumed in the USA is conventionally raised.
