Let’s play a little game called I Spy….
I spy something black.

Correctamundo!
It’s a bat.
[not exactly sure if it was dead or alive - it looked wet]

I spy something oceanic.

Bingo!
It’s a whale tail.

I spy something spoiled + sleepy.
Okay –That one was a freebie.
Game over.

Eric + I like to climb.
We also like to travel.
Almost every weekend we are out traveling + climbing.
This past weekend —Shelf Road —Cañon City –Colorado.
Welcome to the campground.

A climb with a view –

We met our friends Peter + Michelle down there.
This is Peter leading a really hard 5.11b/c climb.
Way to go Pedro!

I sat that climb out.
It made me sweat just looking at it.

No camping trip would be complete without a box of wine.
This is my hands down absolute favorite box of wine.

I love cards!
And side ponytails.
And apparently purple teeth.

Our campsite was gorgeous.
And even better —There was a HUGE lightening storm all around us –but not on us –as soon as it got dark.
Super creepy + cool.

On our way home we stopped to check out the Garden of the Gods.

Super pretty.

We got one climb in at Garden of the Gods + packed up + headed home as a thunderstorm rolled in.

Cheers to an action packed weekend.
I want them all to be like this.

Nice pics! I kind of think bats are cute. They’re like mice with ugly wings.
That would be so awesome to be blanketed by lightening storms but not be in them. I’d like to experience that one day. Looks like a great time of year to be camping in CO!
The lightening storm was seriously one of the coolest things I have ever seen in my 28 years! Hope you get to experience it too!
Your life is too cool. Rock climbing plus wine would not be pretty (for me),but I bet you experts had it down
Oh rest assured the order of the day was:
-Rock climbing
-Wine drinking
I’m pretty sure I would never drink + climb…Okay Okay…maybe one beer
I’m mildly obsessed with side ponytails. Even more so after drinking a box of wine. Also –your travels make me so jealous that I don’t live near such beautiful places!!
LOVE the cloud picture! awesome!
xoxo from Trinidad

We miss you too! Hope the aren’t going to have to amputate…
I’ve always wanted to see Colorado. It’s so beautiful. And obviously very fun.
Your avatar makes me want a summer tomato SO BADLY right now!!!!!!!
I can’t believe the views you guys had. Sooo gorgeous! All that topped off with cards, wine and pups and it pretty much looks like THE perfect weekend
Glad you guys are having so much fun out there!
It was fabulous! I’m not so sure how fabulous it is going to be when it snows. I think I am allergic to snow.
Your pictures are gorgeous!!!
Thanks Lauren!
My parents got to visit Garden of the Gods this summer and I loved their pictures…and yours too! Happy Fall! errr,Autumn? With all your climbing I don’t want to wish any type of fall on you!
Hahahahahahah! How nice of you to not wish me any falls or falling things! Happy autumn to you too!
Can I have your weekends? They sound infinitely more fun that the ones I spend working.
Absolutely. Can I have your job?

That Penny picture cracks me up!! Great photos–I want to go climbing now TOO.
After your incident with the rattlesnake,I’m amazed you’d ever take your eyes off the ground ever again. Glad you looked up and shared those clouds with us. THANKS
Hahahaha! Oh I spend PLENTY of time looking at the ground. I move extra slow these days! Glad you enjoyed the photos.
I totally agree –no camping trip is complete without a box of wine. In Australia,we call it “goon.”Not sure why,but it is a must on any outdoors adventure. Love your photos –just makes me want to pack up the truck and head off into the wilderness!
I can’t wait to start calling my box of wine a goon. “Honey —will you grab the goon, please?”Love it!
