LIKES:
- I like what I have going on right now and I plan on changing the pictures seasonally.
- I can finally have a RECIPES section!! The other theme was a pain in the @$$ to get the parent pages to work [I was never successful]
- I like that I did it all by myself!! [Well I did ask ASHLEY one question]
DISLIKES:
- The font is crazy big. Size 11 is to so so tiny + size 12 is so so so big.
- I don’t know how to change the colors of the links + I HATE the color BLUE.
FEEDBACK PLEASE!!
I know a couple of you have suggested reinstating full length posts back in reader format. That is something that I am going to have to think about —I know there are a million blogs that everyone follows and going to all of the sites is time consuming —but bloggers put a lot of time + effort into what they do. Readers are a great way to *alert* you that a new post is up —but a click over is the only way it is viable for bloggers to keep dedicating a significant portion of their time to blogging.
I’ll sleep on it.
What else!?!
Cheers!!
B+B

i’m among the lazy who prefer full length posts in google reader. to be honest,i end up not clicking over to read the posts for most that give only a snippet…but i love the new look!
your posts are not showing up fully in my google reader. its showing like 2 sentences and then asking me to click here. so annoying, what changed?
Gonna be honest,I don’t mind clicking over. I really don’t think it’s that big of a deal, and don’t understand why people are complaining.
I think it’s more fun to click over, you get more of the blogger’s “personality”in the post that way —you get to see the design and layout aka the marketing of that person. Bloggers obviously put effort into that, and I think it’s what separates healthy living blogs from one another.
I was annoyed about having to click over from Google Reader, but if it means giving support to a blog I enjoy reading, then I think I can make the tiny of effort of clicking to open your full blog post in a new tab. I guess I didn’t realize that using Google reader meant that bloggers got less advertising revenue.
I gotta go with the crowd here and say I want to be able to read it in google reader. I have lots os blogs I enjoy and that makes it way easier to keep up with.
Thanks
I get what your saying about the clicking over. I am a blogger too and I know the effort that is involved in formatting a blog, however I am still not a fan. I often read blogs in between tasks at work and will often pass over the blogs that make me click out. I only have a few minutes to spare between tasks and don’t usually have time to wait for another page to load.
I agree with the other comments about being able to read posts in Google reader. I typically unsubscribe to blogs when I cannot read them in Google reader. For me,how “pretty”a blog might look is not as important because I am more interested in the information.
I understand what you mean about the clicking over issue- but- I definitely prefer to read the entire post in Reader.
THEN,I click over to leave a comment! I tend to leave comments on every post from bloggers I love,so they get the pageviews they deserve
Also…I often read my foodie blogs through Reader at work. It looks a little less suspicious to have the Reader format up on my screen than clicking on lots of pages with background designs, ads, etc…
I have to agree about the partial feed, especially one that only gives a couple sentences. I most likely won’t click over when I can’t even tell what the post is about. If you were to do a paragraph and maybe a photograph (like Smitten Kitchen does, for example) I would almost always click over to read.
I agree with Sonia –comments get the pageviews! (And yes,I am among the masses who prefer the full-length posts in Google Reader;it’s just easier.)
As far as everything else goes,I think it looks good! The blue links match your blueberries
Lookin Good lady! I feel SO out of the technology loop!! Just learned about google reader!! What a FANtastic idea!! I’ve already started adding all of my FAVE blogs (Including yours of course
) Thanks for mentioning it!
I took Penny on a march or die walk to think about all of the recent comments.
I am especially torn because of my background in art and in food.
I LOVE to actually SUPPORT local artists and local farmers. REAL art + REAL food costs a lot more than mass produced art + mass produced food. Why? The processes to make the products take a lot of time and a lot of love. The same rule applies to blogging. Come on,it’s not like you have to pay for it.
Have I ever used google reader? Yes –For about 5 minutes. I like surprise. I like clicking on the blogs I follow in my nicely formatted blog bookmark drop down bar to see if there is a new post. Call me old school.
I never actually intended to change how the feed reads —It was on accident when I was playing in my settings today. I was so torn when I realized how many people don’t go to the actual blog sites to read the blogs. Agony.
My solution —Change the reader back to the way it was [not quite yet though -- I want to see what other people have to say]. Why am I going to change the feed to full text? Because it affects bloggers and loyal readers. Loyal blog readers that come over and comment like Sonia.
As for the readers who clicked over for the first time to B+B —Welcome. I’m glad you actually got to see what it looks like.
That is all for now.

Hmmmmmm. One slight hang up. I want the search feature to bring up shortened versions of the posts so you can see more at once. I am not sure how to keep the search posts shortened w/o the posts also being shortened in google reader. Any suggestions? I have simply changed my options in my reading section in wordpress.
i am one of the google reader folks who don’t like having to click over to read a post. but i do love the layout/theme! looks good, and great job doing it on your own
p.s. i am hosting a dog giveaway in honor of my penelope’s bday! check it out!
Love how the blueberries go down the page!!
I tend to read your blog and many others while I’m on a break at work,or when I first get in and I’m checking email. Sounds great right? Except that your blog website is technically blocked because it is categorized under “Blogs”for my company’s internet blocking settings which is not allowed. Google reader for some reason, isn’t blocked. So,for me,I like being able to see full posts in my reader
Usually at the end of each week I go to the blog’s actual website. So I do both. But when I want a break or get some inspiration for what to make for lunch or dinner while I’m at my 9-5er,I can’t,unless I can see your full post through my reader.
It should be back to normal total feed! Let me know if it’s not!
B+B
I also prefer to read them in Reader, not only because it’s easier, but fonts are uniform and just simpler on my eyes.
I tend to quit reading blogs that don’t do longer posts in Reader, and only click over every now &again.
Just checked Reader to see if it was back to normal feed…doesn’t look like it is on mine! But maybe it’s waiting for a new post to switch back??
Loooove your blog!
Thanks so much for considering all of us
Love the blueberries!
Whoa I like it! The photo is gorgeous and the font isn’t annoyingly large at all! Way to go on handling it yourself. You’re seriously a trooper.
Hey Kelsey!
I don’t use Google Reader for the same reasons you don’t –I like to visit all my favorite blogs “in person”to see if there’s anything new.
I also use the same theme as you,and in order to change the link colors, you have to buy the custom CSS upgrade (only 14.95/year) unless you already have that…and then you can edit the CSS to change the link color. (Check out my blog for example) I can help you with that,if you’d like,as well as graphics if you need ‘em! Shoot me an email if you want to chat about it!
