I was lucky enough to be a demonstrator at an HEIRLOOM TOMATO TASTING at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.
Check out the salsa that Kris canned the other day!! [More on that to come soon]

I think this is my MOST FAVORITE TOMATO that I have ever photographed —So photogenic!!
It’s a Mortgage Lifter [there is a fun story behind it that can be read HERE]

Mini Orange tomatoes —These are tangy!!

Abraham Lincolns —great for cooking, but not the best for slicing

Purple Cherokee [lower in acid + a GREAT slicing tomato]
I think this was everyones favorite!

Caspian Pink [all pinks originated in Russia] and are lower in acid

We diced them up so they could be tasted individually without any additions.

Another Kelsey demo sign!

Cook-Free tomato dishes:

Why buy heirloom:

Here’s a great tip:
Cut different tomatoes in different shapes so you have a variety of flavors, textures + sizes —and it’s WAY PRETTIER!!

Tossed with a simple vinaigrette made with:
- EVOO
- balsamic vin
- salt
- pepper
- drizzle of honey
Also tossed with:
- Thai basil
- red onion
- minced garlic

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SIMPLE + SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!
Now go buy + play with some local tomatoes!!
Cheers!
