It’s chain-like,but I love True Foods. I got their spaghetti squash casserole and green tea soba noodles when I went (split both with a co-worker). Their fruit elixirs are really good, too and they have organic wines. It’s a Dr. Weil restaurant. :)

I’ve never been to Arizona…but I’m a yelp fan. Do your research with yelp and menupages, and you can’t go wrong! :-)

Hey-hey! You’re coming to my town! i can make better suggestions if i know where you are staying and if you will have a car. The valley is very spread out,so depending on where you are staying some could be pretty far. If you are near old town gotta go to Kazimierz. http://www.kazbar.net coolest wine bar we have. Let me know if you want to meet up.

I live here in Mesa and work in Scottsdale(North). No trip would be complete without happy hour to Sapporo. Half price everything till 7,and great people watching..great sushi and teppanaki to boot!!
                          http://www.sapporoscottsdale.com/about.html

For some wood fired fair,Bandera’s (owned by Houstons). The corn bread is worth the trip.

For fun and elegant, yet casual Sunday brunch buffet,Hyatt at Gainey Ranch…call now to reserve, and sit out on the patio..you won’t be dissapointed. Fod is spread out like a market and included free-flowing champagne–we spend at least 3 hours every trip.

And if you want to try the best 3.00 margaritas you won’t be able to drink more then 2,and the best local Sonoran cuisine,go to Via de Losantos on Central in PHX..they have authentic healthy fish and green beans and grilled shrimp tacos…mmmmm

Oh,and “the waterfront”as it is now called has some great bars…Olive and Ivy is lots of fun on its “grass”patio

And if you get chance head to Kierland Commons and try some more Fox restaurants,Green House,Zinc Bistro,North, and Bar North. And try dirty blue cheese stuffed olive martini at Tommy Bahamas out on patio..and someone has to try a Rum Runner!

                              Green (in Scottsdale)

Just a note if you haven’t left yet –a lot of the above recommendations are chains. The Fox restaurants are overpriced and mediocre in my opinion.
The great pizza place Oregano’s is not to be missed. Best pizza and salads, and super cute atmosphere. Get a pizzookie –orgasmic!

I live in Phx as well and would totally recommend Pita Jungle. One of my FAV healthier restaurants. The hummus is to DIE for. =D

Hit La Grande Orange for breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you do breakfast make sure you get their sourdough English muffins.

For dinner hit Roaring Fork’s happy hour. It is a high end restaurant that does a very cheap and really good happy hour. There happy hour menu is not typical and the locals know it,so make sure you get there early between 4-6 or you will be waiting.

The Green House and Zinc Bistro are also very good.

If you like local breweries check out Four Peaks in Scottsdale or Tempe. Best bar food and their beer is great.
