How to keep asparagus pretty — Give it a CLIPPING + send it SWIMMING!!

To a speed shopper like myself — this package appears to say “VANILLA“
This is a great product if you want vanilla + banana yogurt — I however am less than interested in fruity mek mek yogurt.
It’s okay in smoothies — but NO GOOD in NO PUDGE FUDGE

TARGET HAS THE BEST FROZEN FRUIT EVER!!!!!!!
It’s not organic — but it is AMAZING

A WHOPPING 4 LB BAG!!

I LOVE CHERRIES!!
Dark + sweet cherries!!

- mixed fruit
- cherries
- oj
- vanana .. sneaky sneaky vanana

SPICY POLENTA CAKE TIME!!!!

- make thick grits
- flavor them how you like them — I went spicy
- line a food safe object with plastic wrap
- pour in semi cooled polenta [hot will melt the plastic + cold won't spread properly]
- refrigerate until solid

Reason # 981 not to buy things out of season—
It’s a WHITE WATERMELON!!
MMMMMMMMMMMMek!!
Mini PB snack while I made dinner –

I cut the polenta square into squares + tossed into a heated pan with a dab of butter.

For the gravy I referenced this pretty flipping delicious SHRIMP + GRITS post
Step 1
INGREDIENTS
-1 T Butter
-2+ T flour
———–
DIRECTIONS
-Heat pan to medium + add above listed ingredients
-Mix fat + flour
-Push around the pan + crumble with a spatula until browned
———–
Step 2
INGREDIENTS
-1 C Milk (you can use soy/almond milk too
)
-salt
-seasonings [pepper/red pepper/your choice]
———–
DIRECTIONS
-Stir in milk slowly– I start by adding 1/4 C + go up from there
-The goal is to get rid of all of the clumps + make a nice creamy gravy (I use my spatula with slits in it to mash the clumps out)
-Stir frequently!!
-Add more milk if needed..
-Then season to taste!

The shrimp were sauteed in:
- heat pan with a dab of EVOO
- add 2 cloves chopped garlic
- saute garlic for a minute
- add lemon juice [a few hefty splashes]
- add white wine [heavy pour]
- add SKRIMPS!! [I used 2/3 of a pound for 2 people]
I fished the garlic out of the shrimp cooking juice + added it to the gravy
Presentation–
- Pan seared polenta on the bottom
- topped with grilled asparagus
- topped with gravy
- topped with shrimp
And that is how I tricked Eric into eating SHRIMP + GRITS.
hahahahahahahahahaha!!

Today is going to be awesome………………. NOT
I have a micro test tomorrow — So I ate brain food:
- gross watermelon smoothie [the watermelon alone was gross -- the smoothie is pretty good]
- WW muffin + smart balance + Fresh honey roasted PB
- 2 Egglands Best EGGERS!!

Cheers!!

That’s weird that they snuck in the banana! I’m thinking it tasted like runts?? I don’t like fake banana flavah–no ma’am!
SHRIMPIES!!!! I can’t wait to go home for spring break because my daddy-o spoils me rotten with jumbo shrimp! I love your plating style!!
You always know how to make food look so good!
I love frozen fruit too. Black cherries are amazing and my very favorite are raspberries.

Move to Pennsylvania and be my personal chef please. I’ll pay you in wine, burritos, and mixtapes.
What a great concept for shrimp and grits! You’re so creative.
Love that target frozen fruit!
That shrimp dish looks so pretty! Where did you get NC shrimp from? I usually only see it at that one farmers market in town.
Sorry about the yogurt…sounds like something I would have done when I was busy-shopping.
Ah that sounds fantastic!! And looks STUNNING!! I wish I’d seen this before I attempted shrimp and grits for the 1st time last weekend- yours look & sound so much more appetizing!
Finally back to blog reading, and how I have missed your sassy posts.
I would be miffed if I ended up with banana yogurt. That just sounds so…gag inducing. Ick! I do like the looks of those shrimp & asparagus & grits. Yum!
