Today I got a phone call — ‘A surprise dinner is on the way!! Chill your favorite bottle of white!!’
Okay — Twist my arm. [as long as it doesn't involve CAT FOOD]
MMMMMM. This is a nice semi sweet complex white that goes very well with seafood!!
I picked it up a while ago — but I’m pretty sure it is under $10 at TJs!!

BAKED CRAB LEGS
- roll them around in olive oil + S + P
- bake at 350* for 9 minutes
PERFECTION– Way better than boiled crab legs!!

Look at this FEAST!!
- steamers
- baked crab legs
- brussel sprouts
- balsamic roasted potatoes
It was ABSOLUTELY THE BEST SURPRISE EVER!!

I thawed some of the TJs HANDMADE GANACHE CAKE to nosh on post dinner.

This morning we sipped on some supposedly coveted coffee beans –
Much to our disappointment this coffee was just goodish. Nothing special at all!!

SATURDAY LUNCH TIME–
SPINACH + PEPPERONI CALZONES!!
- I rolled out TJs dough into 2 portions
- topped them with garlic + spinach that I had sauteed in marinara
- topped with a little freshly grated mozz

- doubled over the dough
- cut off the scraps
- rolled the edges

- put on the pizza pan to wait until it was lunch time
- covered + tossed in the fridge

I had leftover dough + leftover time!!

So I made herbed breadsticks to go with dinner tonight–
- rubbed the dough with butter
- topped with garlic salt + pepper + oregano flakes
- covered + tossed in fridge

And cinnamon sticks for dessert tonight –
- rubbed down with butter
- sprinkled cinnamon + sugar
- covered + tossed in the fridge
I also made a SIMPLE SUGAR ICING using the bullet blender.

Finally it was lunch time–
So I sliced little air vents in the calzones + decided that I wanted to add pepperoni to them!!

After stuffing them with pepperoni I brushed them with marinara sauce + sprinkled them with parm cheese

Holy amazing. It was the PERFECT balance of flavors + textures + just the right size!!

More studying to do!! I love school!!
cheers!!

Those calzones look amazing.
MMMM….those calzones look A-mazing!
I’m sure your seafood feast was delish but those calzones actually look even MORE exciting! Do you think the pizza pan was a necessity or would they work on a cookie tray?
That’s my pizza pan. Dad
I can’t decide if I’d rather have the seafood feast or those calzones. I should just come live with you, then I could eat all your creations. Or what I really need is to move back out on my own, so I have free reign in the kitchen again.
Love the presentation of your crab leg dinner! Vouvray is an excellent choice with crab. I want that whole meal right now!
Those cinnamon sticks are a great idea! You’ve just reminded me I should get off google reader and hit the books too….
