FOODBUZZ 24,24,24 —LOCAL BITES FROM A COLORADO WINTER

Once upon a time CHRIS + ASHLEY lived only blocks away from ERIC + ME.

We literally did everything together —it was a fun FUN party PARTY all of the time –

And then one day they moved away

IMG_8571.JPG

We’ve been missing them terribly since they moved in SEPTEMBER —So we booked flights and hopped on a plane.

And arrived bursting at the seams with EXCITEMENT!!!!!

A CHEEEEEEERS was in order for our REUNION with a LOCAL brew from DAM BREWERY!!

Ashley + I are [obviously] both food bloggers + jumped at the chance to apply for the FOODBUZZ 24,24,24 + were ABSOLUTELY THRILLED when we were awarded the honor!!

Saturday came quick + ASHLEY + I got cracking on our prep work for our 24,24,24 dinner.

We picked up this little gem while shopping for LOCAL ADULT BEVERAGES for the party —I was pleasantly surprised and would totally drink this wine again —dry + medium bodied + delicious.

If I’m going chop vegetables on a Saturday afternoon during vacation —You better believe that I’m going to be doing it with a glass of VINO in my hand!!

Prep LIST + VINO.

IMG_2448.JPG

We kicked off the party with a cooler of LOCAL brews —LEFT HAND + TWISTED PINE

IMG_2456.JPG

Natalie arrived ….

….with a 6 MIXED PACK of her favorite LOCAL BREWS!!

IMG_2468.JPG

All of the GUESTS were SO AMAZING and kept with the LOCAL THEME and brought LOCAL WINES and LOCAL BEERS.

I really really liked the TWO RIVERS Syrah.

IMG_2477.JPG

At the market we BOUGHT SOME GOATS —Literally you have to become a shareholder of goats to be able to buy raw milk cheese in COLORADO.

IMG_2452.JPG

These crackers aren’t exactly local local —but really really really delicious + not too filling –

IMG_2450.JPG

SUPER THIN CRACKERS + LOCAL CHEVRE–

PERFECT AMUSE to get everyone in the mood to eat!!

IMG_2469.JPG

All RECIPES from the evening can be found HERE!!

BEER BREAD!! This was by far the EASIEST and most DELICIOUS herbed bread ever.

The recipe is also SUPER VERSATILE.

IMG_2474.JPG

The BEER + CHEESE SOUP was the ABSOLUTE BEST soup I have ever made in my entire life.

It really stole the show.

1/5 of our budget went to the LOCAL LAMB LOLLIS!!

It was TOTALLY worth it.

IMG_2464.JPG

We took turns describing the LOCAL FARE.

PAN SEARED ROSEMARY ENCRUSTED LOCAL LAMB LOLLIPOP

GARLICKY LOCAL BUTTERNUT SQUASH + SHAVED PARMESAN

IMG_2488.JPG

APPLE BRANDY PALATE CLEANSER

Made with LOCAL APPLES and APPLE BRANDY from OREGON

Serving them out of SHOT GLASSES with CERAMIC measuring spoons was loved by everyone.

IMG_2491.JPG

Totally LOVE her.

IMG_2495.JPG

And I kind of like HIM.

IMG_2497.JPG

The FIRE was blazing and oh so LOVELY.

IMG_2498.JPG

Moving right along to LOCAL BUFFALO MEATBALLS + LOCAL SPAGHETTI SQUASH + LOCAL VODKA SAUCE

Again —SUPER SIMPLE + SUPER DELICIOUS.

Even those who don’t care for the “squash family”were totally digging this dish.

IMG_2509.JPG IMG_2510.JPG

LOCAL GRASS FED BRISKET + LOCALLY BAKED BUNS + LOCAL PURPLE SLAW

IMG_2512.JPG

More LOCAL BEVERAGES —COLORADO REDSTONE MEAD!!

I’ve never had mead before + I enjoyed it —but wouldn’t say it was my favorite.

IMG_2516.JPG

Everyone was able to taste both the boysenberry + traditional varieties.

IMG_2519.JPG

IMG_2524.JPG

OH MY HOLY BREAD.

This bread made the MOST AMAZING bread pudding EVER.

IMG_2439.JPG

APPLE BREAD PUDDING

Complimented by homemade HONEY VANILLA BEAN ICE CREAM

Oh my my my my!! This was out of this world YUMAlicious.

IMG_2526.JPG

It was enjoyed by ALL.

IMG_2528.JPG IMG_2530.JPG

The best part of the night was that ALL PLATES came back to the kitchen COMPLETELY EMPTY.

EVERYONE LOVED EVERYTHING!!

The night exceeded all of my [very high] expectations and it was truly a FABULOUS EXPERIENCE.

ASHLEY was amazing to cook with + I am SO GRATEFUL to FOODBUZZ for allowing us this opportunity.

CHEEEEEERS!!
