OMG!! It’s a RECIPE on my FOOD BLOG!!

HAMBONE SOUP!!

I’m going to take the “directions by picture”approach..

-simmer the hambone in 1 box of chicken broth + 1 can of vegetable broth for 30ish minutes

IMG_1427

- dice 5 large potatoes

IMG_1428

- dice one large sweet onion

IMG_1429

-drink some very delicious wine from TJs —This wine is $34 on the Stonehedge website + $9.99 at a TJs near you!!

I LOVED this wine so much because it is earthy + dry + NOT a hint of jamminess that I hate so much!!

IMG_1430

-sweat the onions a little with EVOO + a pinch of salt

IMG_1432

-pull the ham off of the bone + simmer with the potatoes

IMG_1434

- dice + insert celery

- I also made a cream base to add to the soup by browning EVOO + flour …. then adding a few cups of milk + S + P +  then tossing it in the soup to simmer for a couple of hours.

IMG_1435

- play with adorable baby A

[ASHLEY--- Lil' A says HIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!]

IMG_1437

- give the swollen faced thing some love!!

IMG_1438

-drink more wine [this one is more everyday drinking style-- but still good]

IMG_1440

Poor Poor swollen faced puppy!!

IMG_1443

-enjoy a delicious beer named after the colour of my hair

IMG_1444

- EAT!! So yum yum yum.

-skewer peeps + roast over fire pit [not photographed]

It was an exxxxxcellent evening!!

Cheers!!

        Soup looks gooood!

Funny thing about that wine. Our development is called “Stonehedge”but everyone thinks to call it “Stonehenge.”There is even a picture on the welcome sign of stonehenge but it’s not really that. Weird,I didn’t know that there were other things out there with the same confusing name. Now I need to look for this wine!

        Hope Penny is better!!!!

I hear there’s some sort of website that reviews TJ’s wines…would be SO HELPFUL!! I love the savings at TJ’s,but I am always lost as to what is a good wine and what tastes like it cost $5! If I figure it out,I’ll be sure to share!
