I haven’t ever seen anything like this in my LIFE!! The views made a difficult scrambling hike rather easy —I just wanted to see more + more + more!!

Time for a little SNOW SCRAMBLE!!

After I dug a little + ate a little.
It tasted SO PURE + I didn’t get sick–So I guess it was safe!!

I could practically reach out + touch the clouds!!

If we would have hiked to the top of this we could have had the WORLDS MOST AMAZING VIEW of Garibaldi Lake–

But there was no sign of anyone making the climb recently + I noticed this lovely snow bank that dropped off to NOTHING for a few thousand feet + decided that I did not want to end up on the front page of a BC paper for dying in an avalanche.
It KILLED me to not be able to to all of the way to the top. KILLED ME.
I would make the whole hike again just to see the entire view–it was just that amazing.

So I settled for these views–

Then we started our decent–trying to get back to camp before dark!!

Red Snow!!

Weird!! Animal murder?? Perhaps the killer bird was responsible!!

I never ever ever wanted this hike to end.

Back at camp I was STUNNED by this reflective view–

Ten o’clock at night + it was still kind of light out–

We pumped some water + ate some dinner + PASSED OUT!!
Seriously it was the most GORGEOUS day of my entire 25 year old life!!
Cheers!!

Sorry you couldn’t make it to the top –the views are absolutely breath taking though! So much natural beauty!!
I am loving these pictures. Seriously gorge.
WOWWWWWWW!
i eat snow when we are snowshoeing and i need something. cold and deliciously refreshing.
Thanks so much for putting up these pictures. They are so gorgeous. I was able to take a small break from my desk and pretend I was somewhere else!
Wait,no dress?? Kidding. What an incredible place- I’m sure you will remember this trip forever.
Absolutely amazing! Were you cold with just that thin shirt on? All that snow is making me chilly just looking at it,but boy is it beautiful! Yikes about the red snow…just a LITTLE bit scary!
Wow! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome photos! I live in Wyoming pretty high up and there is ALWAYS red snow like that high atop our Rocky Mountains in the summer …weird. I think it’s algae growth that survives in snow! (Sometimes it is blue or green…)
he he …I googled it and I was right!

You will obviously have to come back to BC then just to go to the top of Black Tusk, and I will just have to come with you. It’s settled.
Mmm,I love Garibaldi. You’ve really reminded me just how lucky I am to live next to such amazing beauty. Sometimes it’s easy to forget.
Luckily I get to go hiking this weekend, although there’s no time for quite such an awesome adventure. If you ever get a chance to come visit the Canadian Rockies, there’s some equally gorgeous hikes here.
Oh,and I always eat snow too
I went there last year, one of my favorite hikes of the year! You’ll have to go back so you can see the view from Panorama Ridge,it’s so gorgeous.
Hi! I can’t wait to go back up there + do it again. It was absolutely beautiful. Do you have photos on your blog of your hike?! Cheers!
