Eleven Days Rolled Into One.. CA/OR Trip 2008

I promised a recap my West Coast trip from last summer–

Starting in San Fran,CA.. Over to Berkley,Ca.. Up to Point Reyes,CA.. Over to Sonoma,CA.. Over to Yosemite,CA.. Up to Lake Tahoe,NV,Up to a few rando national parks in Northern CA,Up to Bend,OR,then finally to Portland,OR.

The sidewalk sparkles where HOMEGIRL comes from + I LOVE IT so much!!

We spent a few days in San Fran. Uber amazing memories–terrible photos!!

We obtained a permit to have a driftwood fire on a beach at Point Reyes–2 HOURS of searching + this was all we could come up with.

And the only thing on fire is the fire starter. It never caught.

Wes went to sleep. I played with my new rocks.

I collect rocks on our trips.

Crazy face after an afternoon in Sonoma–great wine + great food + GREAT TIMES.

I am so glad I wasn’t the driver!!

Random Pic from Yosemite–we spent 2 or 3 days here.. Beautiful–but I prefer the coast.. or Utah.

I heart Utah. Arches + Canyon Lands.. Oh how I long for Moab,UT.

We hiked in at dusk–classic Kelsey + Wes style. We have set up camp at least 20 times together.. of all of those times we’ve only set up camp in the daylight 2 or 3 times.

There is just too much to do + too much to see!!

The moon was still up in the morning!!

And watched the world’s most amazing MOON RISE one night over Sierra Nevada tall boys.

We got a genius idea to climb an inactive volcano–a very TALL inactive volcano.

And why not start at dusk–with no head lamps–sounds like a plan.

Yep. That little dot is me. Wes sent me up first to see if I would actually hike it.

I was wearing a sundress and flip flops. Classic Kelsey hiking gear.

We found a place where we could dig our own hot springs!! Awesome + fun–but would have REALLY LOVED a shovel.

I scratched the h-e-double hockey sticks out of my Tiffanys Elsa Perreti open heart ring—speaking of–there is now a full heart ring + I am IN LOVE with it.

We trail ran a few miles to this giant + 30 ft deep cool pool–but it was like 42*F + we decided against taking the plunge when we heard the screams of another guy who did it!!

I hear it was a great show + a great time..

I woke up next to a Burger King fish sandwich a few hours later in–

Our classy motel room!! —$80 for TWO nights in BEND,OR!! SCORE!!

Then a day in Portland to Celebrate my day of birth–I called my mother to tell her happy birthing day. Thanks mom!

This year it will be Wes’birthday on the trip. I want to make him wear a party hat the whole time.

I CAN’T WAIT.

And of course there is no way that I am laying in my bed at 1:30 AM wearing my hiking shoes + trying on hiking outfits for the trip–NO WAY.
