It was Memorial Day + it was sunny + I wanted to throw a party!!
I wanted to eat a burger + drink some beer + have some ice cream–two of which were excellent choices for a typically non-meat eating lactose intolerant girl.. 
An impromptu invite was sent out + the troops were assembled..
I snacked on a few blueberries while I worked on dinner..
The most BEAUTIFUL blueberries EVER!!
Once I started moving around the house I started finding bears!! I found BEAKER first!!
I bet he was eating expensive nuts dipped in Barney Butter..

It’s a Davidson College Teddy Gram!! Who knew!
Next I found CHURTON.. Very relaxed.
He asked me if I would bring him a WIRED Magazine–what a nerd..
Then I found BOCKER!!
Sweet sweet little BOCKER!!
And a treat 
I headed downstairs to get the party started.. Brews on ice..
I sipped on this guy (for hours) while I put dinner together..
Food Should Taste Good sent me these chips a while back–they were so flavorful!! They are GREAT stand alone snacking chips.. I’m going to have to say even better than Kashi Crackers!! Yep! I said it!!
Kath’s house LOVES onions.. Loves Loves Loves them..

The compost pile LOVES onions too!! + Mosquitoes love me!! ERLack!!!!
The fridge wanted a taste of the goodness that it has been missing..
(promptly removed for fear of lingering smell!!)
Suuuuuuuuper Uuuuuuuuuuper UPER goodness of Balsamic Vinegar reduced caramelized Sweet Onion..
Soooooo SO so GOOD!!
The bears invited their friends over.. Mama + Papa + Sister + Brother..
They dined on FSTG chips + hummus + greek olives..
and chips + salsa!!
Papa hit the sauce + got the drunchies..
Churton made a new friend..
There is only one TEAM BOO in my book.. crazy impostors.
Maternal instinct.. Sweet baby Bocker!!
While the bears hit the booze + ate Barney Butter the big kids hit up the Burger Bar!!
NATE!! The grill master himself!!
Good thing he came over–I don’t even know how to turn on a grill..
I don’t think anyone used the mayo —we were all too busy enjoying the onions —but I made it fancy with a silver knife!!

Bleu Cheese burgers –ooey good melted goodness on the inside–+ a feta burger for Kate!!
SPICY sweet potato fries.. Made according to the recipe + techniques found HERE with the exact same ingredients -well a new sweet potato- and tools!!
Feta Slaw..
We figured out why the sweet potato fries were SO SPICY.. I just used a tiny dash of seasoning–but missed one key word on the box (that I actually didn’t read at all.. just recognized it from the video)–HABANERO!!!! This is my second offense with the habanero pepper.. the first offense can be seen HERE. When will I learn?? and why is the word habanero so small??!!
I needed a brew to cool down.. HOT HOT HOT!!
I actually really really liked the Sarnac Summer Ale.. much better than the Pom Wheat one I had in the afternoon..
Yes–I ate a REAL burger + it was REALLY delicious.
Kate brought cookies + I brought ice cream–white + dark + regular chocolate–pretty pretty pretty good!!
I resisted temptation to get the HD pineapple coconut ice cream–but I’ve been thinking about it on the constant.. perhaps there will be a trip to the grocery today..

Nate + Kate + Mama + Papa + Sister + Brother Bear all went home.. Leaving Churton + Beaker + Bocker to raid the Barney Butter!!
They left one serving for Kath’s oats when she returns from her trip.. Such nice bears
The party was a success —but we all missed Kath + Matt!!
Perhaps they will bring me back a tan!!

I caramelized the onions with a splash of EVOO over medium heat + added a few splashes of BV at the end + let them cook for a few more minutes–they were perfect!!
